Warren Ellis' Blackcross (Project Superpowers)

There are a few consistent themes through my blog posts. I love the writing of Warren Ellis, I love things from the Public Domain, and I’m a consistent fan of creative remixes. I’ve just finished reading a graphic novel that managed to tick all of those boxes. Blackcross by Warren Ellis tells the tale of a kind of cosmic exorcist (the American Spirit) on the trail of the ghosts of several golden age comic book figures, most notably The Black Terror, who have posessed the inhabitants of a small town.

While picking up a copy of the Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency comic I noticed this absolutely fantastic poster for an upcoming DC comic featuring characters from Hanna Barbera. Gameboy Light

Two months ago, I became obssessed with the Japanese exclusive Gameboy Lite. I set off on a quest to find one, but what I did instead is a little less conventional. If you’re interested, you can get a Gameboy light from Amazon for about $100. The gameboy light is a neat little piece of hardware, released just before the launch of the gameboy color. It’s about the size of a gameboy pocket (that is, about 4/5 the size of the gameboy color) and features an indiglow/backlit screen. It’s probably the coolest gameboy ever officially released.
